CHANGING SEASONS: WARDROBE REVAMP
Autumn is in full swing, and one of our favourite things about this season is that it gives the opportunity to mix up anything in your wardrobe and revamp it up. It’s a little too cold to be rocking a midi skirt, and not quite warm enough to pull out your favourite trench coat, but the perfect time to be playful with knits, miniskirts and tights.
Rock your favourite sneakers instead of pumps, and ramp up our latest skinnies with layers. Black is back with a vengeance this season – the most on-trend denims for this winter are black and you should definitely have a pair in your wardrobe! This classic shade is so flattering and versatile that it’s the perfect base for your wardrobe.
Splurge on as many trimmed black pieces as you can get your hands on – they’re timeless and you can rock them for as many seasons as they’ll last.
Prints and patterns give way to more minimalistic motifs this season – look out for crosses, bird prints and line-etched prints that are a little more sleek, but still have a lot of impact. Floral prints veer away from multi-coloured ones to display monochromatic, blissfully minimal blossom prints that give this season a sheer look.
The houndstooth print is our vintage pick for this season – this retro pattern is making a comeback, and this time in full colour! Give it a little variety by rocking it on everything from shirts to your handbag.
The ombre trend is still in full swing – look out for pieces that move from light to dark, instead of the other way around.
To make a statement, polish up on metallics – sheer, foil-like metallic shades are in this season, and in all shades. Metallics are not just for wearing during the evening – rock this trend all day by adding a chic metallic cropped jacket to your outfit.
Want to really push the envelope? Elongated necklines are in this season – for a severe look that’s so on-trend, go for jackets and tops that button all the way up your neck.
Pleated skirts are hot– this style works well for formal and casual occasions, which makes it an instant winner. Prep it up with collared blouses and preppy knits, or give it a little chill with layered T-shirts and a longer length blazer.
Shoes are stunning this season. Our favourite? The sneaker wedge trend! This trend combines the comfort and chilled cool look of our favourite sneakers with a sleek wedge heel and laces – what is not to love? Get yours in bright shades to maximise impact, and wear them with everything.
Accessorise with silky scarves in clashing, bright shades plus big, bold prints, and wear thick statement necklaces peppered with colour.
